Ken Desmond
Maine State Director, National Volunteer Fire Council
Mr. Desmond's career started back in 1970 as a Volunteer Firefighter, and in 1972 he became full time with Winslow Fire Dept. and was promoted to Captain. Then in 1977 he became a State Certified Fire Instructor. Mr. Desmond moved to Bath, Maine and became the Captain in Fire Inspections and Fire Safety Educator. In 2001, he became the Fire Chief of Woolwich, Maine. Today, he is the Operations and Training Specialist for Lincoln County Emergency Management in Wiscasset, Maine.
Memberships: Pine Tree Burn Foundation (Trustee, and Past President) , President, Maine State Federation of Firefighters, Maine State Director for National Volunteer Fire Council (NVFC). Charter member of the Maine International Association of Arson Investigators, and New England Volunteer Fire & EMS Coalition, Inc.
